Snow Means More Indoor Golf Drills!

Unfortunately, due to the excessive amount of snow we received this past weekend, we are all forced to be cooped up in the house instead of out enjoying the beautiful weather and rusty golf. If you are looking to improve your game before stepping out onto the first tee, here are some indoor drills to work on at home or in your office:

Phone Book Putting:
Phone books are usually used for booster seats or stools, but now they have a new use: a guidance to help your putting.
1.) Place the phone books putter length apart
2.) Place ball between hone books
3.) Practice using your typical putting stroke to straighten out.
By ensuring your putter does not touch the spine of the book, this drill will help any golfer sense the feeling of a consistent stroke without the putter wobbling, or being pushed or pulled. Find additional drills to work on here!

Chipping Drills:

Using soft practice balls, find a hallway or lengthy space in your home and set up a target (roughly the size of the hole) to aim for. This can be a plastic cup or a coaster.

When you become comfortable with hitting your target, place a book or towel on the ground and aim for it as if it is a landing target. Your first bounce should be off of this object. Though this is not 100% accurate compared to a golf course, it is a drill to practice for feel.

Swing Drills:

Face a spacious wall and place a pillow between your your head and the pillow. Take your typical golf stance and practice keeping your head still. Use your typical swing but remember to keep your head completely still. On the golf course this will prevent topping the ball in many instances. Every golfer can benefit from this simple drill!

Keep in mind from the earlier post: Swingers Sports Lounge and Grill is open year round and provides and indoor golf experience! It is located at 9535 Park Meadows Dr. Unit B, Lone Tree 80124
