The clubhouse has yet to be finished because of insufficient funds. And they plan to hold the Senior PGA Championship there in a week? There has been a large tent to serve as the clubhouse for the last few years. It is a private course, where it is an invitation only membership. Currently they have 377 members, no wonder they don’t have money to pay for the rest of the clubhouse. Rumors have it that the PGA was debating whether or not to host the Championship at an unfinished course. It will still be hosted at Colorado Golf Club in a week, but who knows what could happen to the course in the next few years. This elite golf course may need to broaden their horizons and lower their membership fees to fit with the economy.

But while we continue to encounter snow in April, don’t forget there is still a way to get warmed up for the Summer. Swingers is open and running, but you need a tee time for it. Just when we all thought that the snow had subsided, we receive 3 inches again. Luckily it is melting quickly. But if you, like myself, don’t enjoy the wind, you can go head to Swingers and impress your friends on the virtual Pebble Beach golf course. At least until we do get some nice weather and luscious green grass, we can dream about it while hitting into the screen. So instead of ranting about the weather, tell your friends that you can just change your tee time for the indoor course!

2. Range Balls
3. Unlimited Food
4. Unlimited Non-Alcoholic Beverages

I played a course like this down in Mexico, and there is no feeling like asking the beverage cart girl for all kinds of snacks and drinks, without an exchange of money! (that is until a tip). Prices are somewhat more expensive than your average course, but it is well worth it. Check their prices under their course review! Arrowhead provides a very scenic view of nature, as well as views of Downtown Denver. When you go out to play there, don’t forget your camera!

Make sure to book your tournament now with your favorite course, otherwise, you might have to play a course that you don’t like as much.

Each course has a tournament director or coordinator. When you call, ask to speak with them and make sure you know the date of your event. There are multiple tee-off options as well: scramble, consecutive tee-times etc. The better prepared you are, the better chance you have of booking the tournament to your specifications and not working around the course!

We played the gold tee boxes, which made the course about 7,000 yards. I walked, which I was a little nervous about due to the lenght of the course and my knowledge of the fact that there is a lot of distance between the green and the next tee box. The weather was hot and I had to apply sunscreen twice. I was playing a decent round until I stumbled upon a triple bogey and double bogey back to back…..great times nevertheless.
