2010 Denver Kids Golf Marathon

Jon and I have been waiting for this tournament for months now. On Monday, June 14th, we will be taking on the challenge of playing 100 holes of golf in a single day. This tournament is a charity tournament for the program that I volunteer for, called Denver Kids Inc. The tournament is a shotgun start at 6:30 a.m. at City Park Golf Course, rain or shine. We must have all holes finished by 4:00 p.m.  After raising $1,000 dollars for the tournament (Thank you to all who donated), Jon and I are ready to accomplish the hard part of the fundraiser, playing the golf.

Much like Big Brother Big Sister, Denver Kids is a program to benefit students around Colorado. As a mentor, our goal is to make a positive difference in the mentee’s life, as well as steering them into a successful path, instead of having them become involved in gangs, violence or drugs. Every day we look up to a role model of some kind, and as a mentor our goal is to be that person in these kid’s lives. For more information about Denver Kids and what they are about, visit their home page!

Cross your fingers that the weather remains nice throughout the day and that we are capable of playing all 100 holes in time! Let the blisters form!
