2010 Denver Kids Golf Marathon

Jon and I have been waiting for this tournament for months now. On Monday, June 14th, we will be taking on the challenge of playing 100 holes of golf in a single day. This tournament is a charity tournament for the program that I volunteer for, called Denver Kids Inc. The tournament is a shotgun start at 6:30 a.m. at City Park Golf Course, rain or shine. We must have all holes finished by 4:00 p.m.  After raising $1,000 dollars for the tournament (Thank you to all who donated), Jon and I are ready to accomplish the hard part of the fundraiser, playing the golf.

Much like Big Brother Big Sister, Denver Kids is a program to benefit students around Colorado. As a mentor, our goal is to make a positive difference in the mentee’s life, as well as steering them into a successful path, instead of having them become involved in gangs, violence or drugs. Every day we look up to a role model of some kind, and as a mentor our goal is to be that person in these kid’s lives.
